Abstract There are some names which cannot be spoken and others written, at least on certain very natural ways of conceiving them. Interestingly, this observation proves to in tension with a wide range views about what are. Prima facie , looks like problem for predicativists. Ultima it turns out equally problematic Millians. For either sort theorist, resolving requires embracing revisionary account the metaphysics names. Revisionary Millianism, I argue, offers important advantages over its predicativist competitor.
